Best onboarding experience?

One might think that it's about giving a new employee space and time to take it easy, getting to know their colleagues, company culture, new routines. I've been there.

I wouldn't call this a good onboarding strategy. At least not based on my experience as well as what I've heard from others.

Had a nice conversation about it with an amazing designer Elias Tejnung the other day. We started at Skatteverket at the same time and almost from the day 1 we got to work on an initiative where we were able to demonstrate the value of user-centric design by testing an idea that was about to be implemented.

We are all at work to contribute. To create something. To improve things.

Best onboarding for me is about getting to do actual work and learning about the company by doing something that has a potential to make a difference.

What's the most important in onboarding for you?
